Medium – Watercolor

I have been drawing all my life. However, my major and graduate program was not in art although I took art classes whenever I could.  While attending UCSF, I found time for Saturday drawing at the DeYoung,  Later on, I took classes in art at Marin College, Butte College, San Francisco Art institute, Chico State University, and the Chico Art Center. It was at the Chico Art Center that I attended drawing and painting classes  from Sal Casa. Thru the Art Center, I have had the opportunity to be active in figurative and portrait groups and have had the opportunity to be involved in pleine aire activities.  I have also attended many workshops.  So, my art education has been self directed and diverse. For me, artwork is a way to describe and communicate beauty in simple, ordinary life.  And I have discovered, for me, it is about the paint, When i get involved in my work, it is total immersion. I have been traveling between Chico and Fredericksburg for several years.  In airports, I sketched people, waiting.  in Chico,   I painted water towers , figurative work, pleine aire, and old buildings, and in Fredericksburg, old brick, buildings, and figurative.  I know I will be drawing and painting old buildings for awhile….There are many here with great character.
