Obsession – Color and light.

Sandra Kennelly, a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Art and Education in 1959.

“My jewelry is made out of dichroic glass which is glass coated with colored metals.  I cut the glass into small pieces and arrange it to either glow with subdued colors, shine like metal, sparkle with tiny points of light, or flash with almost neon quality.
I am forever experimenting with the glass combinations and with various methods. The glass is fired in a pottery kiln at various degrees to either completely melt all the glass to a smooth shiny surface, or to keep the texture of the glass so that it catches the light and changes colors as you move.  Therefore, no two pieces are exactly alike.  Each piece is an original piece of wearable Art.”
